＜事業概要＞
①セブンイレブンとの協働事業（産官民連携）
令和元年６月から、株式会社セブン-イレブン・ジャパンが、市内のセブンイレブン全店舗において、日本財団の資金協力を受けて、ペットボトル自動回収機を設置しています。
また、セブンイレブン店舗で回収した良質のペットボトルを、市内の１次集積所まで、社会貢献事業として東大和市清掃事業協同組合が収集及び運搬を担っています。自治体としての役割は、市民の皆様に、ペットボトルの適正な排出の呼び掛けや事業周知等を行うこととしています。
②コカ・コーラボトラーズとの協働事業（官民連携）
令和２年１０月から、市役所本庁舎1階でペットボトル自動回収機による回収を始めました。回収したペットボトルは、市内の１次集積所まで、社会貢献として東大和市清掃事業協同組合が、収集及び運搬を担っています。自治体の役割は、市民の皆様に、ペットボトルの適正な排出の呼び掛けや事業周知等を行うこととしています。
＜事業効果＞
効果については、行政回収量によりお示しします。
平成30年度の行政回収量は、約１６４トンでした。事業を開始した、令和元年度の行政回収量は約１４４トンとなりました。事業開始後、約２０トン、約１２％の削減となっております。
この効果は、市内の民間小売事業者による自主回収の効果もありますが、ペットボトルの排出場所が増えたことにより、市民の利便性の向上が図られたことによる効果も大きいと考えています。
＜スムースな事業運営＞
市民の皆様の利用が多くなることはとても喜ばしいことであり、市による事業周知の効果があり認知されたものと考えています。しかし、セブンイレブン店舗での回収量が増え、ペットボトル自動回収機の袋の交換等の作業を行っていただいている店舗スタッフの負担も増えます。また、社会貢献として収集及び運搬を担っていただいている、東大和市清掃事業協同組合の作業量も増えてまいります。

＜Project Overview＞
Higashiyamato City is implementing a plastic bottle collection program in cooperation with private businesses and other entities.
①Collaborative project with Seven-Eleven (industry-government-private partnership)
Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. has installed automatic plastic bottle collection machines at all Seven-Eleven stores in the city, with financial support from the Nippon Foundation.
In addition, the Higashiyamato City Cleaning Cooperative Association is responsible for the collection and transportation of good quality plastic bottles collected at 7-Eleven stores to the primary collection point in the city as a social contribution project. As part of the municipality's role, the city is to call on citizens to properly dispose of plastic bottles and inform them of the project.
②Collaborative project with Coca-Cola Bottlers (public-private partnership)
In October 2020, we began collecting plastic bottles using an automatic bottle collection machine on the first floor of the City Hall main building. The collected plastic bottles are collected and transported to the primary collection point in the city by the Higashiyamato City Cleaning Business Cooperative Association as a social contribution. The role of the local government is to call on citizens to properly dispose of plastic bottles and to inform them of the project.
＜Project Effects＞
The effect is shown by the amount of administrative collection volume.
The volume for FY 2018 was approximately 164 tons.
The volume for FY 2019, when the business was launched, was approximately 144 tons.
Since the start of the project, the amount of waste was reduced by approximately 20 tons, about 12%.
In addition to the voluntary collection of plastic bottles by private retailers in the city, we believe that the increased convenience for citizens resulting from the increased number of places to dispose of plastic bottles has also contributed greatly to this effect.
＜Contribution to the SDGs＞
In this project, each stakeholder is doing what they can do to ensure smooth operation and circulation. We believe that it is very meaningful to collaborate with the private sector in waste management, where government alone is reaching its limits. We would like to contribute to the achievement of each goal of the SDGs by enhancing SDG No. 17, "Partnership for the Goals".
＜Smooth Project Management＞
We are very pleased to see more and more citizens using the service, and we believe that this is a recognition of the effectiveness of the city's efforts to publicize the project. However, the increased volume of collection at 7-Eleven stores will increase the workload of those stores who are responsible for changing the bags of the automatic plastic bottle collection machines. In addition, the workload of the Higashiyamato City Cleaning Cooperative Association, which is responsible for collection and transportation as a social contribution, will also increase.
