八王子市消費生活センターでは、「八王子市消費生活条例」に基づき、市民の消費生活の安定及び向上を図るため、八王子市消費生活基本計画を策定し施策を展開しています。
令和5年(2023年)3月には、東京都が立ち上げたプロジェクト「TOKYOエシカル」にパートナー団体として参加し、エシカル消費を日常にする社会的ムーブメントの創出により市民の消費行動の変容を促す取組を東京都はじめ関連団体との連携のもとスタートさせました。
具体的な取組事例としては、基本計画における施策の一つとして掲げている「SDGｓの達成に向けたエシカル消費の環境づくり」において、あらゆる機会を捉えたエシカル消費の啓発を推進するため、市内でエシカル消費をコンセプトに営業している民間事業者との共創により、地産地消など身近に取り組めるエシカル消費の事例を周知、啓発しています。

In March 2023, Hachioji City joined "TOKYO Ethical Project" launched by Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a partner organization, to create a social movement for ethical consumption in daily life, fostering a transformation in citizens’ consumption behavior in cooperation with Tokyo Metropolitan Government and other related organizations.
As a specific example, we highlight the initiative of "Creation of an environment for ethical consumption towards achieving the SDGs," To promote awareness of ethical consumption at every opportunity, we are disseminating and raising awareness of ethical consumption, such as local production for local consumption, through co-creation with private businesses operating with the concept of ethical consumption in the city.
