渋沢栄一翁は、かつて、日米関係が悪化した際に、その関係修復のため、各地を奔走しました。また、オスマン帝国によって迫害されたアルメニア人難民に人道支援を行いました。こうした渋沢栄一翁の行動は、ＳＤＧｓに掲げる「平和と公平をすべての人に」と相通じるものがあります。
本イベントは、国際政治学者の木村昌人氏をお迎えし、国際平和を希求した渋沢栄一翁に関する基調講演をしていただくとともに、講談師・神田京子氏が贈る渋沢栄一翁の半生をテーマとした講談を行い、国際平和について考える企画として開催しました。

When relations between Japan and the U.S. deteriorated, Mr. Shibusawa Eiichi traveled extensively to restore those relations. He also provided humanitarian aid to Armenian refugees persecuted by the Ottoman Empire.
Such actions by Shibusawa Eiichi are in line with the SDGs' vision of "peace and equity for all"
As a project to think about international peace, this event welcomed Mr. Kimura Masato, an international political scientist, who delivered a keynote lecture on Shibusawa Eiichi, who sought international peace. And we presented a talk on the life of Shibusawa Eiichi, presented by Ms. Kanda Kyoko, a storyteller.
